Abstract

This study aimed to develop normative values for physical fitness tests health-related (HRPFT) in students aged 6 to 15 from the Municipal Education Network in the city of Mafra, SC. The population consisted of 1755 students from 12 schools. Body weight and height were measured, and the Body Mass Index (BMI) was calculated (body weight/height squared). For cardiorespiratory fitness (AERO), flexibility (FLEX), and abdominal strength endurance (ABD) tests, those proposed by the Esporte Brasil Project (PROESP-BR, 2021) were employed. Data collection was carried out by physical education teachers trained for this purpose. Data analysis involved descriptive and frequency statistics. Outliers were removed for the development of normative values, and the data were then arranged into percentiles. Consequently, values below P5 were considered "low"; between P5 and P10 "below average"; between P25 and P75 "average"; between P75 and P90 "above average"; and above P95 "high." Normative values were established for each test, considering gender and age. Creating normative values allows for comparisons with other schools and students in different locations. Additionally, physical education teachers can use the generated data for lesson planning to develop and discuss HRPFT and implement more effective health programs for students.
